Working with a great team offers numerous benefits. Firstly, it fosters collaboration and synergy, allowing individuals to combine their unique skills and perspectives to achieve greater results. Moreover, a great team promotes accountability and shared responsibility, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Lastly, working with a great team cultivates a sense of camaraderie and fosters strong relationships, leading to increased job satisfaction and overall happiness in the workplace.
In Our Voice
It was raining and snowing on our first community service and a little girl was in line. She had big eyes – full of fear, and she was cold, not dressed for the weather. This touched my heart and I knew we were doing the right thing to support her.
Open Hearts and Hands of Hope is nourishing hope; it’s rewarding, fulfilling, and humbling. Most importantly, it’s sowing seeds of hope.
Everyone that we serve are not homeless. Maybe they are in a shelter or living in their car, but they have many insecurities: food, unemployment, disabilities, veteran concerns, mental health issues, ex-cons, or addiction.
We serve all.

I believe in the power of volunteering and have done so for over 20 years, with many different organizations.
What drew me to Open Hearts and Hands of Hope was the energy and passion display by its founder, Sharen, when we talked about helping people. Such joy and happiness.
This work is very important to me because this is where people can come to feed themselves and their children. After seeing so many hungry in LA, I told myself if I ever got the chance to help them I’m going to do it. Now, here I am – helping and loving it.

As someone who works with Veterans daily, my choice to support Open Hearts and Hands of Hope was simple. Many of those served by this organization are, indeed, Veterans.
By volunteering I get to engage with the Veteran community members who can benefit from learning how to navigate the VA and secure their benefits.
